I'm very glad you (and Wizard) are still active in the "emule-project", unlike most developers who have by now left the project
I'm testing our new beba
Some of us return every now and then, like Netfinity ... :) ...
Hi tux!
Glad to see you are still working on my favourite mod... Thank you!
I'll give a try right now!
Thanks for testing! :good:
Updated to beta 2 with a link to beba's (all-new) version check in the logs. :)
(For the translators: There's one new string, a second one will follow in beta 3.)
IDS_BEBA_VERSION_CHECK "Click here to check if a new beba version is available"
IDS_BEBA_VCHECK_INFOTEXT "Note that this only checks for a new version of the official eMule client. New beba versions are not affected."

About beba's translators ......... I do not know wo they are (Darkforge?) and if they are still in activity, but if you are searching for new translators ...... here we are :whistling:
PS: I do not want to replace (or to start a war with) the old translators so, if they are reading this, keep doing your great work :good:
I'm pretty sure they'll read this here as this is the only Italian beta board for me.
But you're right, I should post a link there. Thanks for the reminder!
You're welcome
If you need some help .... here we are
Yup: Please check if the upload scoring ("On Queue" list) seems to be ok, with and without Analyzer CS enabled.
(Without Analyzer CS: "Bad" clients should not be punished so much. With it: They should have a very low rating.)
I tried to enable/disable the CA and it happened what you wrote.
In my queue list i have many clients with the default nickname and when i do a test like this i'm confuse. In this case, i would like to see a feature like funny nick.
:hello:
Uhm. Just for clarification: The Analyzer CS is not the Analyzer, it only affects the scoring, not the bad client punishment itself. :bounce:
Thanks for the test! (Could you give me a screenshot of your queue with Analyzer CS disabled? Just curious. Mine is not long.)
Also, no, there won't be funny nick. Deal with it.
Also my queue list isn't too long because i'm testing just for few hours...
This is my queue list with Analyzer CS disabled:

Looks reasonable. Nothing is broken then. :76:
Thank you!
Now I'll do some fine-tuning, maybe improve some small things...
Please report any crashes BEFORE the release this time! :wink2:
CitazionePlease report any crashes BEFORE the release this time!
Of course, i won't forget this time!!
:hello:
Very strange thing that happens to me
Take a look to the attachments. Three "bad clients" are highlighted. The first one seems to be all right, with and without Analyzer CS enabled (Ratio and Score changes); the second and the third .... no change!!
EDIT: in a second try, they are both changed like the first one. I don't know why!
Yay. Not reproducible issues! :bounce:
Any actual bugs (which can be reproduced) or crashes lately? Exiting beba and stuff works?
No crashes for me. Long life to beba
The same for me. Great work Tux. :)
Great!
Final beba will be released in the evening if nothing explodes until then, thank you. :)

Great work tux!
:ranting: )
Not bad, considering that it costs me at least fifty euro a year :asd:... you say this "for fame" or because of this particular case?
I say this because antivirus software is always snake oil software. Also I'm rather convinced that beba contains no malware.
IMHO it is just a case of "false positive", a typical situation with Kaspersky and Avira (these two programs have always given me a lot of false positives). No problem with Avast free

Hi kids! :doofywave:
- Do you really think kids today will become violent just because they know how to swear?
No I don't, but it's only a kind of respect for those who don't like that kind of "expressions".
In my "real life" I usually use too many bad words, but I'm trying to stop it :asd:
Now that's quite American. "Let's ban everything that's bad, it will magically disappear!"

The next beba version will be v2.80 or v3.00 (yet to be decided) and based on eMule 0.50b. The list of changes is already prepared. In case you want to start beta testing, grab the current kMule SVN code (or wait for the next release) and try the new clipboard watcher.

In my dropbox, well hidden.
Short overview:
* merge eMule 0.50b
* remove beba improvements which are part of the new official code
* add the Clipboard Watchdog (from kMule by myself)
* add MediaInfo.dll auto update (from kMule by WiZaRd)
* remove the .url file from the beba package
* fix a grammar issue in the credits ;-)
* default toolbar set to "small icons, labels on the right" (because I like that)

Yessss! As I said in the past (cause I keep open many search tabs), I'd like to move each tab in "search results" page, changing their position (for example, moving the 10th tab between second and third ......)
Alternatively, I'd like to have these tabs in two or more lines, as I can see all tabs without scrolling them.
:-[
Why do you keep many tabs open at all? Search results are not fetched automatically.
Because every day I repeat my searches for
many "new episodes" and I prefer to see all keywords in the tabs without the needing of saving a title list in a txt file and write it on emule again and again.
This is the same thing that I do on Firefox; many tabs open so I can surf from one to another very fast :wink2:
CitazioneSearch results are not fetched automatically
Yes, they are!
Oh.
Hm, not sure if the SysTabControl32 supports moving tabs. According to the internet, it doesn't. (Basically I'd have to recode everything related to them.)

I send you two dmp files.
Known problem with the new WinSock2 implementation, probably (without having looked at the dump files). I told you it will explode.
But I'll see if I can work around it.

v3.00 [noitide sdrawkcab eht]
This should have been v2.80; however, a new eMule is in town, so I pushed it. Maybe I should have used NetFinity's version scheme from the beginning, this would have been beba 0.4 then or something.
However, yesterday I noticed a strange thing on v3.00: every time I enter/change a server I get a failed attempt ("...appears to be full") immediately followed by a successful connection to the same server ("Connection established on:...").
Something strange is happening here!!! Yesterday everything was all right with beba 3.0
Today, when I open it, a mediainfo.txt update start automatically (???) and then beba disappear!! Watching on task manager .... here it is .... but it's not possible to end the task.
All is ok with previous versions
Windows 7 - 32 bit

This is due to Visual Studio 2010. If I knew how to fix, I would. Same issue in kMule ...

Damn, you found the trojan.
:hello:
gia scompattato mi segnala proprio emule.exe :P
:asd:

YES, THIS IS STILL A BETA!

I have a problem with the new beta: for some reason kad remains firewalled. Reverting to the previous beta (0.50.1.8) kad works well as always.
Also, with the new beta I got an error that I had never seen before: Error [SERVER NAME] ([SERVER IP]) - Too many files republished by your client software. Please upgrade it.
Is UPnP enabled? Does it work on "official" .50b "nightly"?
How many files do you share?

Same problem here with this new beta version. UpNp is disabled. 75 files on my share list
Hmm. Does anyone of you happen to have the previous beta's src files? :eh:
(However, the Firewalled issue seems to come from the official code...)

UPnP is enabled, I ticked even the "use UPnP to setup ports" (prior, it was disabled), but it's not able to setup port forwardings.
Well... I don't know which one is the official 0.50b nightly :-[ I used beba v2.71/2.72, then I've tried v3.00 [0.50.1.8] until today, when I started using v3.00 [0.50.1.10].
Now I'm sharing 1454 files.

Hm, no...
EDIT: oh wait, "nightly" is the codename of the official 0.50b? Not of one of beba versions? In this case, I never tried it...
There are eMule 0.50b "official" alpha builds, latest one from yesterday AFAICS, where beba is based upon. :)
Uh, ok I'm quite ignorant in that, and not a good tester at all :)
All testers are good testers.
Coming back to your previous beta (dated november 2013) all things are fine. Mybe is an "official new bug" :whistling:
Depends if you can reproduce it with the official *mule.
For some reason I now have (on 0.50.1.10) a high ID, after nearly an hour of connection. Looking through the verbose, I see that UPNP has tried desperately to do its job:
- Traversing the service list of UPnP device failed.
- upnp: Event Subscription Failed
- No more available UPnP implementations left
Then it looks like an external kad port was found. I did a ports test, which failed due to UDP.
Just to point it out, the error message about the too many files etc. comes out exactly 4 minutes after each server connection/change ok, not true, after 15 minutes since the last server change is not happened yet :P
Interesting.
Well, just testing a bit. Indeed, it takes suspiciously longer to get a High ID now...
I just updated the archives with latest eMule upstream changes and MiniUPnP 1.9. :)
My beba has a High ID with it.
BTW, I mis-merged this version. :wink2: So there's one "if" too much, but that shouldn't affect functionality.

Still low id here
Same here  Basically, the only difference I noticed from 0.50.1.10 (and from my previous comment) is that after 4 hours I still not get an high ID kad...
Why does it work for me?
Anything possibly relevant in the verbose log?
Hmm, actually, some hours ago I get in the verbose an error message that I've never seen before, so I copypasted it. You have to translate it, also because I do not know what it means despite being in Italian:
Error: Client UDP socket, failed to receive data from [SOMEBODY'S IP]: Error 10040: Le dimensioni del messaggio inviato su un socket di datagramma sono maggiori del buffer interno dei messaggi o di un altro limite di rete oppure le dimensioni del buffer di ricezione del datagramma sono inferiori quelle del datagramma stesso.
Hope this coud help...
No, not related to the IDs at all ...
After six hours I got a high ID. Apart from the connection time, my situation looks the same as of February 12 (port test failed due to UDP, etc.)
EDIT: I lost the high ID less than an hour after I got it... :(
This is my verbose log after a few minutes

Do your other testers also have this kad ID issues?
I was wondering: I've used 0.50.1.8 for months and it worked so well almost as if it were a release, then I had problems with 1.10 and above. I never used the 1.9 so, just saying, could be useful if we test it...?
It's useful to test the official builds.

Updates archives once more.
I don't know what changes you have made, but now it works perfectly (High ID, successful port test, "Use UPnP to setup ports" unflagged), no problem after a night running. :good:
Basically I missed a closing bracket. :wink2:
Servers working too?
All fine; even the old red message "...appears to be full" which always appeared when entering/changing a server now is gone.
That's good, because I don't get High IDs on servers... probably my config. is broken then.
:bounce:
Anyone tried the Clipboard Watchdog yet?
High ID for me with this new release (0.50.1.11) both on servers and on kad :good:

Yes. Accidentally.

any update about your beba ?
do you think to add the spread priority ?

Ehy Tux any news?
No new build?
:hello:
I had been updating it a few months ago, but I am unable to compile it because of linker issues which I don't really understand...
Does anyone have time and a clue?
Thx for update Tux.
With UploadSpeedSense activated i can not see the upload /% / ping.
Does a clean configuration work?
No.
I take my notes... but I can't promise anything. (No fixes without compilation. :bash: ) Thank you.
I noticed that there is a semi-official 0.51a, developed by fox88. I decided to merge it.

EMule slept for many years and most probably your are a little "rusty". It's just a matter of "exercise" (I'm joking, of course ).
:hello:
In fact, I hadn't managed to build a new beba in years anyway. I wish I had released 3.00 earlier... and yes, the last .50b 3.00 beta has been my daily driver since then.
I spent the past few years working on my C++ knowledge though.
Current state of things: I fixed a number of syntax and linker errors which happened to sneak in while I updated the code. I don't have the feeling that this has made anything better at all. beba is still far from being built.

Another good news. :notworthy:
Citazionebeba is still far from being built
When you have the time and inspiration to merge your beba, we are here! :good:
It is already merged ... but there are a number of missing libraries. And libpng does not compile just yet. :ranting:
Good news: libpng compiles and I updated to eMule 0.51b... and I still have a bunch of errors. Please be patient.
No news?
:hello:
Well... thank you for reminding me.
I updated to 0.51c. For relatively obvious reasons, that did not fix all of my problems immediately.
I honestly don't care much about warnings anymore (around 30k of them. Oh geez, is this fucked up ), but the errors, the errors... something in the libraries is misconfigured.
I'm on it.
I'm officially too dumb to fix the compiler problems.
